Helping my clients realize what's possible has always been my driving force. My journey began in corporate banking, where I gained invaluable knowledge and insights. However, I yearned to step away from the corporate world to make a real impact in people's everyday financial lives. I enjoy guiding clients through financial challenges and concerns, ensuring that financial knowledge and beliefs are passed on to future generations.
My interest in finance led me to study economics as an undergrad, and my career started on Wall Street, living in midtown Manhattan. At Goldman Sachs, I was surrounded by some of the brightest minds, where I learned at a rapid pace. My time in Salt Lake City allowed me to enjoy Utah's outdoors, from trout fishing to skiing. In 2016, I married my wife, Devon, and we relocated to the Boston area, where I pursued my CFP® at Boston University. Personal finance became my passion, and I knew it was my long-term calling. I love the client interaction and crafting customized plans for each individual.
My approach goes beyond numbers, focusing on understanding what truly drives and motivates clients. Prior to founding Champlain Financial Planning, I gained experience at Goldman Sachs, Brown Brothers Harriman, and an independent advisory group in New Hampshire. In 2018, I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®), and in 2021, an enrolled agent. Supported by top institutions, I provide comprehensive financial planning advice across various areas.
I live in Merrimac, Massachusetts, with my wife, son, dog, and horses. The location offers proximity to beaches, the lakes region, and family. Merrimac's small-town feel and slower pace suits our lifestyle. My wife, Devon, has been my partner since we were 17. She's competitive, with a background in economics, and competes in horseback riding. Our son, Parker, joined us in the fall of 2024, bringing joy and a fresh perspective. Our dog, Dakota, adopted in 2014, is our chief morale officer and always reminds us of what is truly important.
Growing up in Middleton, Massachusetts, I had a typical American childhood, filled with sports and activities. I played travel hockey, and my experiences on the ice shaped my work ethic. Today, I remain involved in local high school hockey programs. I love New England sports teams and enjoy outdoor activities like skiing, golfing, and boating. Our farm with three horses keeps us busy with projects around the barn.
As a member of the Financial Planning Association and the National Association of Tax Professionals, I am committed to staying informed and providing the best service possible to my clients.
